I have known…

lunches and brunches

with teachers and preachers,

clubs and pubs

with fellow creatures,

annual dues,

opposing views,

worthy drives

for saving lives,

tight cliques

who never mix,

writers’ conferring

with pens hardly stirring,

creative classes

for eager masses,

and others at courses

getting over divorces,

tries and defeats

on mountain retreats,

with bearded men

I have studied Zen,

learning to bend

and how to defend.

I have worked with groups

and traveled with troops,

but….

It is here I find

I am with my own kind.
